New 13 Seer Rating Mandate

 Update on changes to the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) on A/C units

Beginning January 1, 2006, the government has mandated that the minimum SEER rating of a/c units will change from 10 to 13. This equates to a 30% increase in the cost of a new outdoor unit (Condenser). If you have been putting off replacing that old condenser, and you want to save money, you might want to consider having us replace it before the end of the year.

 

 

Gas Furnaces

We have all heard about the higher cost of gas. If you still have a furnace that is over 15 years old, it may be time to upgrade to one of the new 80% furnaces. These new furnaces have more efficient heat exchangers and no pilot light.  Our new furnaces have electronic ignition, combustion motors (for expelling carbon monoxide) and better safety controls. They are also at least 20% more efficient than the older models.

 We also install whole-house humidifiers. We’d be glad to quote you on one.
